Step 1: What You Need to Bring

Before you head over to Purrysburg Rd, make sure you have these essentials ready:

• Valid Photo ID: Everyone who enters the range (shooters and observers) must provide a valid government-issued photo ID (Driver's License, Passport, or Military ID).
• Proper Footwear: For safety reasons, we require closed-toe shoes. No sandals, flip-flops, or high heels are allowed on the firing line.
• Clothing: We recommend a shirt with a high collar (like a t-shirt or polo) to prevent hot brass from accidentally getting caught between your shirt and skin.

Step 2: The Mandatory Safety Briefing

Every first-time visitor at LCGUNS receives a dedicated one-on-one safety briefing from a Range Safety Officer. We will teach you the four fundamental rules of firearm safety, how to operate our electronic target retrievers, and our specific range procedures. This isn't a test—it's a professional conversation designed to ensure you feel 100% confident before you ever step onto the line in our climate-controlled 25-yard bays.

Step 3: Renting the Right Firearm and Gear

If you don't own a firearm yet, don't worry! Our staff can recommend a great starter pistol or rifle from our massive 170+ gun rental fleet. For absolute beginners, we often recommend starting with a .22 caliber firearm—it has virtually zero recoil and allows you to focus on your aim and trigger pull. High-quality ear muffs and eye protection are available for rent at the counter if you don't have your own. Our staff can even show you our pro-shop selection of holsters, cases, and range bags.

Step 4: Your First Shots on the Line

Once you're on the range, a Range Safety Officer will be nearby to assist if you have questions. Our lanes are 25 yards long, but as a beginner, we recommend starting your target at 3 to 5 yards to build your confidence. You have unlimited time on your lane, so there's no pressure to rush. Take your time, breathe, and enjoy the premium indoor environment. Our state-of-the-art EPA-compliant ventilation ensures you shoot in fresh, lead-free air.
